Tikona means Triangle. This
is a plain triangular paratha. Tikona paratha is very easy to make and has
layers. The layers of dough and oil between the layers make this paratha soft
and flaky. Tikona paratha recipe is great for tiffins as it remains soft for a
long time. This will be perfect to be packed in your kids tiffin. You can serve
it with any dry vegetables as well as any curry. You can also serve Tikona
paratha with curd, raita or pickle.
Tikona Paratha recipe | Plain Paratha | How to make Tikona Paratha?
Ingredients
Wheat Flour - 1 cup
Water - 1/2 cup for kneading
dough
Salt to taste (1/4 tsp)
Oil/Ghee – 4 tbsp
Method
Take flour in a bowl. Add
salt and mix well. Add little oil/ghee and rub it into flour using your fingers.
Start kneading the dough with your hands by adding little water at a time. We
need soft dough for paratha. Keep the dough aside for 5-10 minutes. Divide the dough
in 5 to 6 equal sized balls. Take a ball and roll the dough into a circle like
a chapatti using little flour for dusting. Apply little oil/ghee on the rolled
dough. Fold it over in a half moon circle. Apply little oil/ghee again and fold
it in a triangle. Roll out the paratha in a triangle using little flour for
dusting. Heat a tawa and fry the paratha on hot tawa using oil/ghee until both
sides of the paratha are crisp and brown spots appear. Likewise, make remaining
parathas. Cook until brown spots appear. Serve hot with your choice of
vegetables or curry. You can also serve this paratha with curd, raita or pickle.
