Masala
Roti recipe is a masaledar and delicious spicy Indian flat bread. This masala
roti has the right mix of wheat flour and besan. Chopped green chillies and red
chilli powder make Masala Roti even spicier. Chopped onions and green coriander
impart taste and crunch to Masala Roti. Serve the soft and spicy Masala Roti hot
with butter, pickle, curd or tea. You can also serve Masala Roti along
with any dry vegetable (Sookhi Sabji) and raita.

Ingredients

Dough
Wheat
Flour – 1 cup
Besan
– 1 cup
Finely
chopped onion – 1 (large size)
Chopped
Green chillies – 2 (optional)
Chopped
Coriander Leaves – 2 tbsp
Cumin seeds – ¼ tsp
Ajwain seeds – ¼ tsp
Red
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Ghee
– 1 tsp (optional)
Salt
to taste
Method
Mix
flour and besan. Add chopped onions, green chilies, coriander leaves, red chilli powder, cumin seeds, ajwain seeds and
salt. Mix well. Add ghee and knead to a smooth dough by adding water. Keep it
aside for 15 minutes. Divide the dough into medium size balls. Take a ball and
roll it into a circle like a roti or a chapati
(about 6 inches in diameter) using little flour for dusting. Put the roti on a
hot tawa and cook from both sides until
little brown spots appear. Serve hot with butter, pickle, curd or tea.
