Methi paratha recipe is a quick and healthy breakfast recipe. It is a shallow fried Indian flat bread made with whole wheat flour, fenugreek leaves and some spices. It is not just easy to make and nutritious but also stomach filling. 

Methi paratha recipe is a good tiffin box for snack as it remains soft for a long time. This will be perfect to be packed in your kid’s lunch box. You can serve methi paratha with tea, butter, plain curd, raita or pickle. You can also serve these with dal as well as any vegetable.

Ingredients

Wheat Flour – 2 cup
Methi leaves (Fenugreek leaves) – 1 cup
Chopped Green Chillies – 2 (optional)
Red Chilli powder – 1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil/Ghee – 4 tbsp

Method

Wash and drain methi leaves properly. Chop methi leaves finely and keep them aside. Take wheat flour in a bowl. Add chopped methi leaves, chopped green chllies, red chilli powder and a little salt. Add little oil/ghee and mix well. Knead to a smooth dough by adding water. Keep it aside for 15 minutes. Divide the dough into medium size balls. Take a ball and dust with some flour. Roll the ball into a circle like a roti about 6 inches in diameter. Fry the paratha on a hot tawa using oil/ghee until both sides of the paratha are crisp and brown spots appear. Press the edges with a spatula so that they get cooked. Repeat the same for remaining paratha. Serve methi paratha hot with butter, pickle, plain curd, raita, dal or tea.
